Bay 4 - Bar 0

Thought Bayern would win but not by that score, Barca were pants tonight and Bayern were all on the top of their game. When you see the signings they are looking at bringing in they will take some stopping again

That is true but I cannot see it, Bayern are too strong at the back for Barca and Barca are hopeless at the back. I'd go as far to so that I can see Bayern winning in Barcalona too.

I don't disagree, I can't see Barca doing it, but then I couldn't see Bayern winning 4 - 0 tonight.

Jayesh are the best side in the world at the moment they remind me of Arsenals invincibles side Barca have to many players who think they just need to turn up they have that I have already made it mentality

It's unlikely, but didnt Arsenal come close to doing a similar feat earlier in the season
If bar a can score a couple of quick ones, BM might be in trouble

Might be worth putting a couple of quid on Barca as a long shot, should get good odds, I'll get Fundy to give me a quote :)

Just what i was thinking if the odds were high enough, a few quid on Barca half time full time on the night. i can't see them scoring 5 or 6 if bay score, but they should win over 90mins:mmm:

Barca couldn't overturn a 1-0 deficit to Chelsea at home last year so I don't think there's any way they can turn around a 4-0 to a better side than Chelsea.
I fancy Real this year, Jose will want this so bad before leaving the Bernabeau. We saw in last years semis how close Real and Bayern were and since Bayern have lost 2 finals in the last 3 seasons they'll probably lose another.

Hopefully Real Madrid v Bayern Munich at Wembley - proper football and way better than any international.

Whilst BM deserved the win, 2 of the goals could have been disallowed - Gomez off-side and Mullers body check on Alba giving Robben a shot at goal.

However, I thought I watched a different game to Roy Keane and company. They said BM were powerful and strong, but I saw a load of thuggery. BM overused their physical superiority, but were hardly punished by the ref. They were bulldozing their way through Barca players both in attack and defence. Inisieta rightly got a yellow for tripping Martinez, but the joke was that Martinez was pushing Inisieta around the pitch for 90 minutes without a care. Ribery got a foul against someone (I forget who) whilst attacking down the left flank late in the 2nd half, but should have been carded for launching himself at the defender from a couple of yards and diving. I lost count of the fouls committed by Schweinsteiger, but it seems he only got carded for dissent. Yet if any Barca player laid a finger on an BM player, they were hitting the deck with arms flailing all over the place. Case in point was Sanchez against Robben and he got a yellow for it.

Yes, Alba was lucky not to get sent off for throwing the ball in Robben's face and yes, Robbens didn't go to ground (to his credit). No excuse, but Alba was the one who was body-checked by Muller allowing Robben to score and when the ball went out of play just before the incident, he also got an elbow in the face from Boateng. You could understand (but not excuse) his frustration.

Again, BM were still the better side, but the ref cut them a lot of slack and gave them a couple of extra goals to make the return leg all but impossible for Barca. At least Real Madrid will out-dive BM in the final - I think Ronaldo alone might get a couple of players sent off :)

They already have this year against a better side than Chelsea in AC Milan with a 2-0 deficit but BM are a different animal and I stand by what I posted that I think they will turn Barca over at the Nou Camp.

Have to agree with Craw, Barcas away form in the comp been poor this year (and their general form well below previous campaigns) and Bayern (the form side this season) were even money favs, hardly the biggest shock

Phil, 20/1 Barca to qualify - ridiculously short imo, would rather back Bayern at 3/1 to win again in the nou camp (but backing sides who dont need to win a quick way to go poor). If I have a bet on that game I expect it will be for it to be a high scoring affair, Barca have to go all out and Bayern definitely a very good attacking threat on the counter. Maybe over 4.5 goals or something similar

Fundy what odds do you think for a tenner double on Barca h/t and f/time, and Messi to score the first goal, optimistic me

Not sure anyone could overturn Chelsea last season - there was something more than football going on there.

That would, or should, be a good final, not sure who I would want to win more; would never wish Jose ill for all that he did for us, but at the same time the city of Bayern and the Bayern supporters gave us such a fantastic day out last year, I wouldn't begrudge them winning it either.
