Played early this morning (mixed results!) and it was chuffing freezing!
Thought it would be after scraping the ice from the windscreen before leaving home.

Question is, what are good recommendations for base layers?

ive got a few of the Aldi base layers. They are basically a Lycra Polo neck. They were about £8 when i cog mine. Pretty good for the price

Search eBay - loads around the 10-15 quid range - no need to spend more.
Spending 30, 40 or more on a base layers shows you've got more money than sense....

I have a couple of the Dunlop ones and they are brilliant. Personally don't see the point in shelling out on something with a higher priced brand on, just to be covered up by your other two layers you have on! It won't make you swing it better in the cold 😉

there is a difference in budget base layers and premium ones. i have cheapo ones i use for fishing and i use "skins" for golf as they have a fleece like lining. very warm and comfortable

Stop being nesh Gary.
That being said, I dislike base layers with a passion. Does nothing but feel like being you're being restricted.Get a few thinner layers below a wind proof top. Always works for me.

Dunlop from Sports Direct if on a budget, Under Armour if not. Both good but the UA ones are better.

Bought the Dunlop version ftom Sports Direct. Very good at doing its job, however, the elasticated bottom spent the entire 18 holes trying to drag my boxer shorts up my arse!

I must have half a dozen base layers of differant prices and qualitys and my UA is my fave. It is long sleeved and a higher neck. £20 from TK Maxx..
got an Aldi roll neck, again keeps you nice and warm.
Tried a GG skintight and quite frankly I looked fat T**t in it. Plus I found it massively restricted me in a swing. Not to sure you would have to pay for a name to keep you warm, besides who is gonna see it.
