They have an offer 1night b&b and unlimited golf for £34 pp

seems a cracking deal, anyone played? Would it be worth the 9hr round trip? And how's the spa for the good lady?

I'm a member at BB, personally I think it is a decent couple of courses. That does sound a very good price too.

The valley course is bad for getting wet though. I would expect that there would be some amount of winter greens / holes closed on the valley course.

The hill course if normally OK but we have had a few holes closed on there though normally on it just depends on how much rain there has been as if the river rises the bridges will be closed.

I have not used to spa so no idea what it is like.

Played there once, 36 holes over both courses.
Wasn't that impressed to be honest as there was clover growing everywhere and we struggled to find balls that were even slightly "off line".
But that was a few years ago now so they might have got rid of a lot of it.

We had a trip there in September and the whole place was really good. A lot better than my previous experience about 5 years ago.
Courses - Good, a little lush in places but it had been a good growing summer.
Bar - Good, apart from the night porter, wanted to get the bar shut before midnight and was particularly rude.
Food - Superb
Spa - Used the pool and had a look around and looked pretty good. Pool could do with a refurb but that's just being picky.
Staff - Friendly and helpfull...apart from the night porter...

I'd suggest it, this time of year it's the least wet place in mainland UK so worth a gamble.

Not much clover at all now, I have to say the courses are as always in good nick and the green keeper does a fine job of keeping the place good in my opinion.

Booked a weekend there a couple of years ago for an annual society do that we have every year on the first week of July. We got caught by the valley course being wet and disappointingly never got to play it !!!! The facilities, staff and food were first class though.

Wow! That is some assertion that I'm sure people in many parts of the country might challenge.

It is true, Norfolk is the driest county in the UK

Basic geography old boy...CK

From the met office website:

"You do live in a dry area of the country but still some way off the driest. Bedford sees around 584mm per year whilst St Osyth in Essex receives just 507mm and is I believe the driest place in the UK on average."
