So, I promised myself a new set of sticks when I managed to break 90. Finally hit 89 today. Including a par 5 on the last to do so! So have just snapped up this set for what I think is a good price. Anybody use the covert gear yet? I tried them at AG alongside some ap's recently and preferred them. I also took my clubs along so as to get true distances. But not having "earned" them at the time I didn't purchase.

Congrats on breaking 90 and if the irons are as good as the woods you will be fine. Good price for current gear too. Good purchase.

Great shooting mate and lovely clubs, hoping to break 90 myself soon. Come close a few times but never quite there.
To he fair, my best was 94. Then just shot the lights out today. Hit 4 pars through the turn that brought into on course. I remember struggling to break 100. Was chuffed when I did that. More surprises today then chuffed.

Lots of bargains out there, spotted the Nike Covert driver on sale from an email from Direct Golf today for £179, not as popular as Nike thought it may be no doubt

Regular graphite irons? Would you say you have a slow swing?

Modern graphite in irons is a lot better so there probably isn't any difference between them and steel reg. My mate bought his Burner 2.0 irons (Reg/Graphite) when he first started playing the game and is still using them now. He hits a very long ball and should be using at least standard stiff if not stiffer but nope he won't budge and plays well with them. He hits his 9 iron 155-160 yards.

Its dispersion I would worry more about with those shafts rather than distance.

Unfortunatly he has never been on any sort of monitor to compare so it would be impossible for me to comment. I need to sort mine out aswell as the only club I've ever been fitted for was my G25 hybrid which highlighted the need for stiffer shafts in all of my clubs and is something I will be sorting before next season. Oh well money talks.

Congrats on reaching your target. I've set myself a goal of single figures and will look to reward myself with an upgrade from the G25's once I get there as I really hate the mid-short irons and their fat look. I'll definitely go back to the place I got the G25's from though and try everything on Trackman to get the numbers especially the dispersion

Jesus Christ you have only had them 5 mins, did you not hit the mid-short irons when you where fit?
