Well my AQLs decided that dry feet are for wimps today so it's new shoes time. I usually plump for footjoy but my current financial situation is making me think about some cheaper shoes. Does anyone have any suggestions? Have been considering HiTec.

I've looked at cheaper shoes but at the end of the day I don't really think you can beat AQL's for all round comfort, quality and price.
I've just bought another new pair (that's four pairs now...just don't tell the missus)...really nice white pair for the summer and only cost £44.00.
I think that they are unbeatable for the money.
Always fit like a glove and so far none of the ones I have have let a drop of water in.
I've tried other shoes. Adidas and Nike cripple me.
Footjoy are the only shoes I am confident of ordering over the 'net and know that they will fit me.

Buy cheap buy twice!

Don't bother getting a cheaper pair of shoes you will only regret it.

Comfortable Golf shoes are the most important thing for golf.

I have a pair of Hi-Tec and they have been great, really like them and would buy again. I know that I do not take care of my shoes so no point in spending loads. I have even been tempted by the shoes in Aldi, £19.99 a pair. I bought a base layer from there for £8 and it has been fine so may have a punt.

I agree that Nike and Adidas are difficult to get right in terms of the right fit and it is usually a case of having to try them (and usually 1.5 sizes bigger than ANY other shoe in the case of Adidas). Not practical for ordering over the net. I can order any type of FJ including myjoys and know they will be perfect straight from the box whatever model I choose.

Have a look around though as there are some real bargains and with the 2011 range imminent then I'm sure a lot of 2009 and 10 stock will go right down

I got an email from direct golf with massive sale on shoes, mostly footjoy not sure. I've only ever worn fj so couldn't really say good or bad on others, then again I'm still on first pair after nearly ten years and still waterproof! I have just changed the cleats!

I had a pair of GreenJoys that I would only wear for the winter months. These babies lasted for at least 3 winters. I never really cleaned them except for banging off the mud.
Very very durable and so comfy straight out of the box.

Thanks fellas - far too many footjoy mentions to ignore although the greenjoy plastic fantastics do not appeal i'm afraid. The aqls lasted 3 years with 2 rounds a week so I suppose thats not too bad - maybe time to grovel to SWMBO!

I bought a pair of Cotswold golf shoes in a sale a few weeks back, never heard of them before but comfortable and didn't leak wading through a few mini swamps on the weekend.

Only cost £10, think they are about £20-30 full price.
