Well it's official summer is here.

Last night me and Missis T and grandkids sat and had a Barby. It was nice and Barby like.

tonight me and Missis T set up the Japanese grill. Ostrich steaks, kangaroo meat balls, chicken, king prawns. Haloumi cheese, ( chorizo left in fridge). All thinly sliced Oh my lord, it was divine, tashyboys belly is bulging.

me game is gonna suffer tomorrow.

All sounds very nice Tashyboy 👍🏻

I've booked the day off work tomorrow for some family time.
BBQ and paddling pool ☀️🍺

Walking around the garden centre yesterday I saw an outdoor pizza gas heater in the sale for £145. Add a gas bottle for another £50.
Nearly £200 to heat up a pizza in your garden when 30 yards away you could stick it in your oven without any fuss or additional cost.

What sort of numpty buys a outdoor pizza oven/

My brother in law bought a small sized pizza oven, around £100 a few years ago. He has now given it to me as he does with many of his other toys, no kids, too much money. I would not have bought one but they are quite good fun. The problem with these is that the heat is directly under the pizza, in a big brick one the heat is to the side and it acts as a proper oven. This means that you can only cook thin crust pizzas, no problem, but also with a minimum topping as they take longer to cook than the base. A thin tomato / garlic mix is perfect. I cook mine for 2mins 50 seconds, no more. The trick if you want added toppings is to cook them normally and add them to pizza ready done.

A gas pizza is frankly pointless to me. Ours is a charcoal one and you really get a smoky flavour to the pizza that makes it stand apart from a shop bought one. You just don't get that with gas.

Cooking with these is quite social and fun, especially if like me you have a proper, comedy, pizza shovel (or peel to give them their correct term). £200 is silly though, agreed.

Tashy,
I had ostrich steak from Lidl the other day and couldn't get my teeth into it,my greyhounds enjoyed it though.
Was I unlucky or is it always tough?

the ostrich steak we had, we sliced it thin and cooked it on the grill I had a quick look on the cooking instruction for the ostrich it it was literally one minute either side 😳 Don't know what that is all about. There were some little steel pans which you could cook in and I put so soy sauce in with the ostrich and had a ostrich steak burger with Haloumi cheese and salad on me oven bottom muffin. Oh Lordy Lordy.

Sounds good.
Mine was pre packed in a hot sauce.
I obviously should have sliced it thin not treat it like a fillet.
Will try it again on your recommend.
Cheers
