We've booked a cottage in Banburgh town centre for 4 days starting March 27, I'm being allowed to play a couple of rounds, if i behave.
So anyone fancy a round with an old codger, somewhere in the area.

Nice time of year. Some great views from the course at Bamburgh but a bit too hilly for my liking. Lots of other options in the area for you.

This old codger would be happy to play at Goswick or Dunstanburgh, another cracking links. BUT, I do not play in extreme weather conditions. Don't mind winds sub 30 mph & light rain but anything more severe is likely to result in a rapid retreat. PM me when you get around to selecting a date.

P. S. Bamburgh is a bit Mickey Mouse for me even though the only time I played it we won an open 4BBB.

A man after my own heart, I'll PM you nearer the time .

We're heading north the other way on same dates, Gullane, north berwick
Otherwise be happy to have a round with you.

Alternatively
If you want to travel north, there's a space to play with us on the 28th at The Glen...?

Thanks for the offer Moogie, maybe some other time.

I'm off all that week mate, playing Gullane 2 and The Glen with Moogs and Richy Mon-Tue, then Dunstanburgh with Snell and his work society on the Friday.
Happy to play Wed or Thurs if it's any good, a lad I know played Bamburgh recently and raved about it, haven't played Goswick to my shame though but only heard good things. I really enjoyed Seahouses recently and Alnmouth/Foxton is kinda funky in a nice way.

Played four courses in that area last year, loved Tyneside and going back.

did Foxton, Goswick, and Bamburgh on a coastal deal and it was a steel.

Bamburgh, us four raved about it, opens up with two par threes and then two par fives. Some of the holes we thought were stunning, only matched by the views, take a camera. It has loads of character and is unique.
Foxton, fantastic course, played it with man in black and just loved it. Classed as a parkland course but has holes that run along the course. Gorgeous
Would go back to both tomorrow.
Goswick, just did not get it at all, and it was not just me. None of us did. I shot 35 points and played it well but thought it was boring, bland and featureless. Don't get me wrong, I was not a lover of links before i went and this course did not change my view. But last year I also went to Ireland and played Carne and Enniscrone and they were just stunning links/coastal courses.
enjoy me man.

Thanks for the input Tash, I'll just go with the flow and let the others decide what course to play.

Goswick is defo the best "course" in the area
But tashy is right
It doesn't have the views of Bamburgh
But then again,
Just depends if you wanna play golf....??
Or take photos......??

Bamburgh is still nice course, don't get me wrong, and well worth playing if in the area, I've played it a few times, but know plenty that played it once and said they'd never return, too many blind holes for some

£27.50 is about right, £50 is theft. Weather looks calm for you, crucial up there. It is even warm.

Have a great day .

Totally agree
I love goswick
But I'd never pay a £50 green fee to play it
Crazy price

Would sooner pay £400 (or so) for membership

Great course though and I'm sure you fellas will enjoy it
