I'm in donegal on holiday staying near ballyliffin. Looks like I have secured a pass for a twilight round..... Question is.... if you had to choose between the old links and glashedy links which would you choose, or are they much the same? I'd appreciate any thoughts....

echo Brendy. Old course is a tad shorter and tends to be set up a little easier with rough etc. The final few holes also run by the sea and offer fantastic views.

Both are top class courses and you won't be disappointed with either.

The more I play the Old I'm starting to prefer it as a test of golf but that's came over many times of playing it and learning the lines off the tee whereas the Glashedy is all in front of you and you play each hole as it looks more or less.

You will enjoy either of them but as a one off I would recommend the Glashedy.

Glashedy. The old is not a patch on it. But get a buggy or trolley

What time are you going out? Anything after 6:30 and you'll struggle to make it round before sunset without a buggy.

Still think the Old would be a quicker course to get round but the 7th on the Glashedy is a brilliant golf hole.

Been redone I see and looks a far superior hole than what was there which was simply just a decent golf hole if a little out of place on a Links. That water is still there I see though.

Yup the rebuild has brought that water a lot more into play than it previously was. Also offers one of the best views on the course.

Choices, Choices, Lucky old you. Enjoy either :whoo:

Thanks guys, sorry I've been quiet... finding internet a bit elusive over here. Just played the glashedy and thoroughly enjoyed it. Some cracking holes, only slight negative is a couple of them are totally ruined off the reds. Millionaires golf though, just shot round and didn't see another soul until the 15th.
