As now is the time to give the clubs a good scrub and brush, does anyone know of any ways to get rid of imprinted ball impressions on the toe of clubs.

Sorry Baz, cant help ya dont know any methods, only thing i ever think of is if I get some bad ones i'll get them polished out properly (by the way canceled the fitting tonight, I am at Mizuno wrexham monday) back on topic.

Are they scuffs? or just prints?

See from the threads that you cancelled.

They are ball marks where the striking has been part toe and left its mark.

Will getting a polish get them out?

Couldn't really say 100% but it was suggested to me when I asked same question. I suppose it depends how bad the marks are. Also, if its something that is going to keep happening, do you intend on getting them polished every so often?

Try something like solvol autosol.
I seem to recall one of our eminent posters responded to something similar last winter and I think it was ultra fine wet and dry paper but don't try it yet, wait for confirmation first

Will try that then. Most of the bad hits where when I got the clubs and used them, so I hope my ball striking has improved a bit since then and that this will be a one off

Keep us posted mate> This will be a good shout to clear up as I know alot of people have this problem

Very fine wet and dry paper 600 grade or finer followed by a polish but only if they are real bad, if not just a fine compound like autosol.

Okay I’m going to be critical here. Now is not the time to clean the clubs, after each round is the time. Time after time I see guys, they’re irons in particular, and they’re in a mess on the first tee. If you keep your gear clean after each round, or at least once a week, you will not be talking about getting ball marks off the clubs. The bonus is you’ll get a clean strike, the ball will not get so dirty, it will go further with more predictable spin and the clubs are easy to clean if done regular.

I want to know how I have got red marks on my clubs....clearly the only red part on the balls i hit is the number.....

sometimes range balls can leave a hell of a print on clubs

What colour tees do you use.?

Originally all tees were red. They replaced the sand previously used, and were called reddy tees. Unfortunatley the paint used to run, and dye your trousers red too.

I'm a bit of a stickler when it comes to my golf gear....after every round I wipe the clubs over then clean out the grooves with a brass wire brush. (If needs be I clean the club after a shot as well.) I also tidy my bag, clean my trolley and polish my shoes! (Nerdy, moi?!)
As for POLISHING the club faces of my irons, I don't; instead I abrade the face with a piece of fine emery cloth wrapped around a wooden block (engineers among you will recognise an "emery batt") working parallel with the line of the grooves. This gets rid if scuff marks etc. and produces a surface which I believe helps to grip & backspin the ball. Even allowing for the grooves the ball is more likely to skid off a polished face, is it not? That's my theory anyway. Whaddya think?
