Thought i'd put my new ball marker to the test yesterday. It worked really well and was easy to spot on the large greens,

marking to the side of the ball..... that's debatable.

actually its not.

Well it could be. Someone might say, "so you mark your ball to the side?" and you would reply, "yeah sometimes, but it's OK" and they might say, "interesting. I wonder what the merits would be over say marking your ball in a more traditional way, i.e. behind it?", to which you might say, "well I guess there are no real merits, but it's still OK" and then they might start to talk about how they mark their ball and why they would be worried about marking it at the side and after a short discussion, you might go, "yeah you might have a point, even though I am happy with marking it at the side".

Or not.

I took the photo like that so that I could get the flag, ball etc in. As I took it I thought I some forum saddo bangs on about marking from the side.

I think that is known as an ice breaker. People are talking, all is well. No one stood in a corner feeling awkward.

Back to the picture, what a beautifully manicured green. Lovely.

It's the London golf club in Kent. Well worth a visit if you get the chance.
