My tee shot came to rest just in the semi rough but unfortunately my next shot was blocked by the mother of all trees about 20 yds in front of me. No chance to wedge it over said tree so I opted for the low runner under the tree canopy.
I struck it clean and it fizzed plum into the middle of the trunk, fired back at me, struck my bag and there it dropped by my feet, still in the semi rough!
None of us knew how to proceed with a rule on this one so, seeing as it was only a friendly knock, I took a 2 stroke penalty and played it as it lay (my bag actually stopped it going into deeper trouble). I have since been told that I should have only taken a 1 stroke penalty. Would this be correct?
