Just noticed an exchange on twitter between a local pro and assistant pro

Ass't pro - any ideas on why I hit my driver and long/mid irons with a slight draw but with my wedges they push fade? Thanks
Pro - Ur path is2much from inside&the increased backspin imparted by a wedge keeps the ball on its starting direction

It just sounds like in-to-out club path but with the wedges he's possibly cutting under them, leaving the face open and getting the push fade. Not convinced by the increased backspin explanation. Any thoughts?

Well the 'increased backspin' is obviously not keeping the ball on its starting direction - as it fades!

Does seem like an i2o open face/cut - quite a common style with wedges. Ball position (too far back) could well be affecting it - really big divots would be a symptom.

That sounds identical to my shot shapes with those clubs. The Pro I see, says that I don't release my hands enough with my wedges (too much cricket...). I have to really try and rip through the impact to get a good release. I'd love to find a drill to help with my release as I always tend to pick the ball a little with my wedges, unless I really try and fire the club down into the back of the ball, which then tends to make the swing a bit aggressive for what should be a precision club.
