Very simple question to the forum, based purely on your opinion :D

Below is my current club set-up.

Driver: 9° Callaway Big Bertha V Series

3 Wood: 15° Callaway Optiforce

Hybrid: 19° Titleist 913H

Irons: Cleveland 588CB 4-PW

Wedges: Cleveland 588 RTX 52° and 58°

Putter: Odyssey V-Line WHP

13 clubs leaving space for one more. I have no massive distance gaps between the current set up.

Whatta ya think? Would you add/change anything?

A chipper!

If anything maybe a cheap/scrap club like an 9 iron you don't mind getting dings/scratches for playing off paths, stones etc to get the ball back in play (I only use mine a handful of times each year but it saves wrecking a normal club)

why wouldn't you? that's the simple answer.

the biggest difference is between your hybrid and 4iron (5degrees). I'd imagine your 3 wood is quite a bit longer that your hybrid too.

Maybe get an 18 and 21 hybrid? or get a 56 wedge, and bend all of your wedges by 1 degree to get them to 51, 55, 59? Thats what i did.

Virtually the same as mine except I have a hybrid @22° instead of the 4iron and 50/54/58 in the wedges.
I know you like your wedge gaps so probably wouldn't mess with that.
Maybe knock the 913 to 18° and have another at 21° - or even a 3 iron!!!

Quite similar to my own bag (OK, I carry mini driver, and have 18 hybrid). The only difference I have is the wedges I have are 50/56/60

I only carry 13 and I don't think I miss anything particularly. Putting a 14tg in just for the sake of it seems a bit pointless I would have thought. Certainly for me, the less clubs the less choices and indecision.

Or a left handed 7 iron for those time you are up against a tree etc, or a childs club?! Think outside the box!

ive just dropped from 14 to 13 and i now run the exact same setup as you, went from 3 wedges (52,56,60) to just my 52 and 58. i found i was never using my lob wedge at all and i went to my 56 for absolutely everything, although i loved my 56 i now use my 52 for all chipping and 58 for any higher shots, i havent missed the 56 or 60 at all. i do like the idea of a scrap club for playing off paths though.

A 24 degree rescue club sounds like a good idea. It will get you out of the rough and give you a little extra distance. Alternatively, you could try a chipper, as some people love them, albeit some people hate them. You could consider both by simply removing your 3 iron, which most people never actually use

Leave it be I say. I have a very similar line-up, although occasionally the driver gets left at home on the naughty step if it's not behaving.

I'm one for wanting plenty of choice from 125yds and in though, not too bothered about the longer clubs. So if forced, I might consider having a chunky bounced 54/56* in there as a SW, leaving a nice repertoire of options for your grass-based short game as well.

I'd say leave it, it's a very similar setup to mine, (I have 5w instead of 3w) - I'll fill the gap if I feel I need to, but not for the sake of it. I only carried 12 clubs for a while, but had a gap between 5w and 4i, so added a hybrid.

Looks like a really nice set up - do you feel you can hit all the shots you need with that lot?

Mines pretty similar, only difference being a 24° hybrid but that's because I'm king of the worm burner.

I used a similar set up for years. Had a 60 degree at times, left it out other times.

That is a very good question.

Yes, around my current track. However, with my wedges I think they need either re-jigging or adding to.

I don't carry a sand wedge (High bounce) as such. I carry a low bounce 58° and a regular bounce 52°.

I keep toying with the idea of being a little more specific with wedges, maybe adding one, but I don't have many distance issues with the set I already have.

Certainly food for thought though

Sounds well sorted to me! Perhaps a nice high bounce 60° for those interesting/creative shots :D

I find mid bounce more than enough for most bunker shots.

I have a high bounce lob with a wide sole for chipping in winter as it doesn't dig.

If you play your bunker shots with the blade open you are adding bounce so mid works just fine.

You could try a 52 56 60 set up. That is my preferred although sometimes I do without a gap wedge.

Or buy a driving iron. I'd love room for one of those.

No.

Though seems as if a Wedge assessment could be worthwhile!

Thread seem to have too many 'needs' already!
