Bad Temprement

with me it dont i then start to play better to make his matters worse when they see me playing even better they try even harder and makes them even worse

I find it funny when someone throws the teddy out of the cot. They seldom recover their composure in time to save their round. The game's hard enough without spitting the dummy. :D

Wouldnt overly bother me unless his clubs start getting thrown around. Then its time to have a quiet word.

Played with plenty of people who got angry and let the lid off the pressure cooker, but if its just a quick swear and rant it really isnt a problem

Why, what has happened?

well the way i see it is that a wee bit of a grunt to yourself is ok IMO it makes you stick in more and only if it is in a comp that really matters.

the young lad i played with today was throwing clubs about left right and centre. I dont mind it personally as long as he dosent damage the course. but he was having these tantrums when i had putts for the hole and i think that is wrong.

I have been known to get a little cross with myself but never when my opponent/partner is playing.

Did you win though? As a teenager I was pretty bad at times at getting way too stressed (threw the odd club) and could never see that it was actually damaging my golf making me more stressed in a self-perpetuating circle.

Once I realised that one bad hole isn't the end of the world it got better. I still hate to hit a bad shot (and hit way too many) but I'm more accepting now and just try and grind a score out as best I can. I think the problem is a lot of youngsters are seeing Woods, Garcia etc swear, chuck clubs etc and think its acceptable in the same way a lot of kids playing football now dive etc like their heroes on TV

You should've pulled him instantly imo.

Clubs should have rules of disqualification from comps if players are throwing clubs etc.

We all get frustrated on the course at times but that doesn't make club throwing tantrums acceptable.

People who throw clubs or shout and swear at the top of their voice are douchebags. What's the point? It's only a game! While we all strive to be as good as we possibly can be, the games we play in are not exactly for life-changing prizes.

If you're playing badly - chillax and enjoy the walk, or feck off home if in a 3 or 4 ball.

I get a little annoyed if I oink a drive into the garbage or mis-hit an iron shot but off my handicap expect to hit the odd duff one now and again and will try to control my anger. I don't lob woods or irons.
But my putter has been known to take a helicopter ride if I three putt from what should be "birdie" range, or God forbid I four putt. I have learnt though
a) Never throw it in the direction of my playing partners
b) Always throw it ahead so that I don't have to walk back to pick it up.

Well Murph I aint ever heard either swear.....unless you count 'shoot' or 'god damn it' as 'swearing' :D.Neither 'chuck clubs',a bunt into the bag is hugely different to 'chucking clubs'.

Woods does swear. It has been on telly loads of times. He doesn't chuck clubs so much as bang them on the ground, or the side of his bag, and never with too much violence to get pinged for it. I have never seen him do the full on helicopter though.

Garcia? No comment. Not seen him do this.

I remember when I was a junior playing in a comp hitting a bad shot a flinging the club, my Dad came marching out of the clubhouse , grabbed me by the scruff of the neck and dragged me to the car, in front of all my mates. He told me how disgraceful my etiquette was andhow expensive the clubs were that he had bought me to be treated like that. I have never thrown a cluib since, especially as I have to buy my own now!
inexcuseable behaviour endorsed by a certain Mr T Woods
