Is there any places you would recommend to be fitted for a new driver. I have had to play with a 3 wood of late which ,being 13, i can hit 200 yards i feel as though if i have a good driver i would be able to hit alot further. I believe my driver shaft is to flexible. I need a new club and need a shaft to suit me. :D

i come from coseley and am a small 13 year old. i need some driver that fits me before adult clubs start bad habits. i need a higher lofted club about 10 degrees. i would prefer a cheap but cheerful club rather than a massive priced one because im growing quick now. any stores you could recomend? ive heard about direct golf (www.directgolf.co.uk) but wonder if they could do much for me.

I would probably have a chat with your club pro first and see what he recommends. There are some junior clubs that may help if you are still quite small in stature but I think you'd need to look carefully at the shaft you get in it. If you are looking for loft I think you'd be better off going for anything from 10.5 up to 12 or even 13 degrees.

If you decide to go for an adult size, check out a number of the second hand sites (golfbidder etc) as you may be able to find a top name (callaway etc) with an old style (big bertha, steelhead + etc) at very cheap prices as they are 5 or so years old

ur 13 and u hit a 3 wood 200 yard... why do u need a driver?

i had this problem and i have decided to stick with a 3wood only u wont get much more distance thn ur 3 wood?

so why disregard control for a few extra yards low scores r more impressive than long hits with the big stick!

yep agree. recently the driver has just been in the bag for show and have been using the 5 wood. getting the same distance with it so the driver (which i am selling in the for sale section) is going, but will probably will be replaced by a monster :)

:D Is this a special language/spelling for 13 year olds? ;)

Get the best loft on your driver that works for you. My driver is a 13.5 degree because I obviously do something in my swing that de-lofts the club. So, to get a good launch angle I need a high loft. It gets it 250-260 yards minimum with the odd one pushing 300 (downhill, following wind etc, etc).

Sounds like you'd need a stiff shaft, but ideally, get fitted, then go for a new benross, md golf or ram. I've tried these down the range and their performance belies their price!

I have since been told to work on my second shot because my tee shots are not really that bad. I have invested in a slazenger k1 speed hybrid with 21 degrees of loft. Thanks for your advice on websites as I will use them when I have saved up a bit more :p
