Hi all.
Im back to playing at last and the injury seems to have healed.
Ive had 3 rounds and all seems ok apart from losing my sense of direction on the course lol.(very wayward off the tee)
I had an M.O.T. on monday night and the pro reckons ive just got a bit narrow in my backswing causing me to get a bit tight at impact giving me my dreaded block off the tee.

With a bit of practice on the range i should be back to normal by the new season and hope to keep injury free providing i steer clear of ladders and steps at work lol.

Many thanks homer.
I played thorpe wood in peterborough last saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it.The golf wasnt that great but it was good to get out with two of my regular playing partners who are also great mates and have a good time.
The course was in great nick although busy.
I just need to nuckle down and get some good practice in and do justice to my new set of clubs.

Glad to see you're back playing, and just in time for the nice spell of weather we're having, don't think you'll have missed much, temporary greens, soggy fairways, rain.

hopefully you'll get back to your best soon.

Hi TPred,

Good to hear your swigning again. Whats Thorpe Wood like ?

I'll be doing quite a bit of work in Peterborough this year and am hoping to get a few games in during the Summer months ! Are there any other decent courses in the area? I've played
Milton and was impressed with the layout.

thanks , jnr

hi junior.
Thorpe wood is very good.It has been voted best municipal in the uk and if you play it you will see why.
The people are really friendly and the course is well looked after,it does get busy but thats the price you pay for a good pay & play course. It's 19.50 at weekends and £14.50 during the week.http://www.thorpewoodgolfcourse.co.uk

I wish it was closer to me as i would join the club which is atatched to it but being 45 minutes drive away i tend to stick to my local course in bedford.

I go to thorpe wood once a month if i can or if i get a day off in the week i sometimes nip up there.

I cant recommend any other courses in that area as i havent really played them apart from the course down the road from t wood called orton meadows which is owned by the same people. Its not a bad course but it has 7 par 3's.
It also has a web site http://www.ortonmeadowsgolfcourse.co.uk

As far as thorpe wood is concerned i couldnt recommend it highly enough.
Hope this is of some help.
Where do u come from ?

Thanks tpred, Orton Meadows should be good for 18 after work as it's short. Looks like a test of iron play as well !!

I live just outside Manchester but our head office is in Peterborough so will be spending quite a bit of time down there.

If you fancy a game one evening in the Summer give me a shout .

Thank god your a red. ive been a member at old trafford myself for many years now. Although the golf has taken over so i dont get up there as often as i used to although i get up for some of the european nights(which to me is the best atmosphere you can get at the ground).
Il look forward to having a round with you and buying you a beer. And you wont be disapointed with the course.
