Well, they're all out on the trail again. :(

Vote for me, vote for me!

It never ceases to amaze me how gullible they think we are. Kissing babies and pressing the fresh may seem the way forward for these guys. I pity the poor parents who allow Brown to kiss theirs. (Jeez, what an ugly miserable looking plank he looks!)
The key theme to most campaigning seems to consist of slagging off the opposition.

A real turn off.

Anyone else find the whole campaigning charade extremely boring and "same old"?

Got bored before they even anounced it.
What really annoyed me was at 9.15 last night, the BBC news channel had "Breaking News" that Brown had called an election! So what had they been doing since lunchtime then?

I'm with you Imurg.

Won't be long now till they come knocking on the door and carrying on like I'm their best pal.

Regardless of which party it is I always ask them "Where the bloody hell were you when you didn't need my vote?"

Loathesome, the whole lot of them. Media are going daft and joe public couldn't give a damn about what any of them say, the country is so in debt they'll have to tax us by whatever means possible, whomever wins.
I'll be golfing lots over the next month and not watching endless political drivel on tv.

And no matter who gets in, they will insist it was because how good they are and not that they were not just as loathesome as the next party.

Looks like we are all in agreement here so far and I doubt any forumer will come along with a post to the contrary.

What really get my goat is when a politician is asked a Yes/No question and responds by saying:

(a) The real question is...
(b) Let me start by saying...
(c) Any other crap that avoids answering yes or no...

Oh, and here is my Big Issue with the election: we have a massive structural deficit which means that the country is spending more than it earns on core services.

Where did this come from and how was it allowed to happen ?

(.... fumes.....)

I've never had a candidate knock on my door - perhaps because they would have to climb two flights of stairs to do so, and come out after dark?

I think my first question to them would be:
'since you claim to wish to represent me, at what point in the process will you ask my opinion; before or after the party tell you what to do, before or after your own prejudice, before or after the biggest cheque book, before or after any other passing fancy?'
and if it's labour 'when do you propose to hold the referendum you promised last time?'

I really hate their ' the majority agree' claims based on a survey of a dozen of their party sycophants.

No political party represents me - a straight, white, English male so I have no interest in them.

All the parties are as bad as each other. They claim to be in politics so that they can help others and make a difference. INCORRECT!! They are in politics for themselves and themselves only. If Tony Blair had been in politics to help others he wouldn't have sent our forces to a war that no-one wants and that no-one will win!!

Jeremy Clarkson for President!! :D
