Me too. I reckon we have real strength in depth again. Like the look of our side a lot. None of the US names are scary, but then many are unknown...but we have a few of those ourselves.
I think it will be a lot closer this time. There is a small possibility that the US will benefit from the Tiger Show not being in town. That said, I am starting a sweepstake on how many times he is mentioned during the week!
Im not sure about the 'tiger show'. these guys play with him week in week out so why should it affect them. Its like a gyno working all week then going to see his/her partner. Its still the same
I do think there is a small chance that the US will benefit as their own egos will get a massage, rather than that of the top man. That will be unusual for them in normal weeks or at the Ryder Cup - usually it's Tiger + 11 guys...now it's 12 men as a team. We'll see eh?
I think if the pressure of the event doesnt get to him that JB holmes maybe the dark horse, unknown to many but good golfer and with extensive knowledge of the course will benefit him greatly. so if plays with an experienced guy then they can use that knowledge to win their pairing, maybe big Phil?
Cink is solid and did pretty well at the K Club. Stricker is in good form and as Zinger said, would likely have got a place on merit if there were a couple of weeks left to qualify.
Not sure about the rest...pretty unspectacular on paper for me...
Phil Mickelson
Stewart Cink
Kenny Perry
Jim Furyk
Anthony Kim
Justin Leornard
Ben Curtis
Boo Weekley
Chad Campbell
J.B. Holmes
Hunter Mahan
Steve Stricker
There is always a lot of rubbish and posturing leading up to RC. I think on paper there is balance but I think due to the last RC the Americans will have their dander well and truely up and could be a real threat. I will let you know who I think will win when i see them play the first couple of games.
