Played here last week as part of a jolly with guys from my club.
It was a nice day which is always a good start.
a shortish par 4 on a slight dogleg to start with. One thing I soon realised was the greens are extremely slopey though thankfully not that quick.
You weave your way through tree lined fairways that are quite generous on the whole. There’s a few gradient changes and doglegs , so it’s a real advantage to be able to shape your shots. One of mistakes I made was to take on the si 1, 5th hole. There is a burn running across the fairway and a dogleg right to boot, so as I said to my pp, I didn’t come here to lay up
. Hit a nice cut to just in front of the raised green, unfortunately I was just too close to get any stop on the ball from the lush fairway.
Some really good risk reward holes, but I did thing 3 of the four par threes a bit samey, all uphill about the same distance, the other being a very short downhill which I liked.
All in all a great wee course with plenty of Birdie chances to be had, well worth a visit imo.
