"Average" handicapper?

What is an average handicapper?

1. Someone who consistently scores +1 +2 on each hole?

2. Someone who birdies, pars and bogeys, with the occasional nightmare hole?

I'm in group 2. In two week time I'll being having my first anniversary of taking up the game. I'm very very happy overall with my swing, am consistent on about 90% of shots, but that last 10% is proving troublesome!

No such thing as an average golfer. I think the average handicap is about 17 but most people can play under their handicap every now and then and have days where they never come close

Handicaps are relative to ability, or they should be.

I didnt play to my handicap much for a couple of years but have managed to get there or there abouts now. It also depend son how much you put into your game.

What do you play off?
