I think every one knew that his time was short, but maybe waiting until the new year? Possibly Spurs have a new man lined up already, someone who can attract some signings come January?

What I want to know.

Of the £109M they spent in the summer, how many players did AVB pick/choose to buy?

If the answer is "Not many", surely Mr Baldini should get the chop too?

That's definitely what his reply in the post match press conf suggested i.e. they are happy with their signings. Didn't sound he was taking too much ownership for the signings himself - and sounded like he kn ew the boot was coming when he said he thought it would be OK to make 'it' public.

Strangely though I have sympathy I've stopped feeling that sorry for managers getting the boot because in truth most of them don't deserve it and everyone else knows that - so they'll get another job sooner rather than later. AVB for West Brom then? MArtin Jol for Spurs - ah - no - they've already done that.
