Having a party in a couple of weeks for daughter (17) going to be in the old playroom (6 x 4 m ) and a similar sized party tent outside accessed through a patio door. Expecting about 50 drunk teenagers (why am I doing this?)

daughter wants to do a spotify play list on her laptop, so I am looking for something decently loud that we can plug said laptop into, that isnt going to cost the earth. Normal PC speakers are not man enough.

Any suggestions?

Have you not got a surround sound system to your main tv that you could use? i.e take it down and set it up ion that room for the night?

Stick the tunes on an iPod and pop it in an empty pint glass. Instant speaker and nice n cheap.......emptying the pint glass of your favourite beer is the added bonus. :)

Might not be loud enough for a housefull of screaming teens mind ye.

WHY are you serving alcohol to an under 18's party, soft drinks only i would suggest,as for sound system they will not be bothered because no matter what you play it will be rubbish, kids who'd have em.

Because it's a private party.

As for the speakers if it's just for the party and not going to get used again the £49 option mentioned would be the way to go, if you'll use it regularly then the Bose soundlink 2 Bluetooth system at around £150, gives great sound, it's small, portable ideal for around the house or holidays.

so its ok to let under 18's get drunk !!

Also, get a cable that can link your laptop to your stereo switch the input to AUX and turn up the volume. Job done. Cable available on e-bay / Tescos even !!!! couple of quid.

And you NEVER did when you were under 18??????

i did a lot of things when i was under 18,but that doesn't make it ok does it, would you let your under age daughter go clubbing till 3 or 4 in the morning with other under age girls,i ran a very large door security firm and the amount of young girls in vulnerable conditions we turned away every night was shocking,if they are going to drink dont let them get drunk and make sure they ALL get home safely

Didn't write it was okay to let under18's get drunk, that wasn't your question, I would say Phil's comment about drunk teenagers is just a turn of phrase rather than a prediction of events to come.

Too many people like to take things to literally just for effect.

When you hammer you driver down the fairway, your not literally taking out a hammer and hitting your club as you walk down the fairway are you, it's just a turn of phrase.
