First of all, I had the course to myself (millionaire's golf) which makes a LOT of difference to a review.
You can see some of the holes as you drive towards the club, and they look lovely. There are condos and houses surrounding the course, but it doesn't feel oppressive.
It's a very reasonably-priced course, so excellent value for money. I started on 10th, and plotted my way round 3 holes to start 2 over. Considering the greens are very, very quick, I was happy with that. Then the problems started, but more with my game than the course. The layout is lovely, with great pot bunkers (go out backwards!), some blind tee shots and dog-legs, and some wicked pin placements. The par 3s are really good, of varying length, but challenging. While it's got "beach" in the title, it's not really a true links course, but plays similar.
The main problem is that there's no course planner in the pro-shop and no guide on the card or the holes to explain the layout. One hole looks like it's dogleg left over a huge mound, but it's actually right! Knowing the layout definitely helps.
Free drops when you ball goes into "the bushes" was a bit odd, as I could have played from a couple of the lies, but in all honesty, with cobras on the course, I was happier not to!
All in all, a very nice golf course so long as the winds not blowing, which it was after 8 holes. Par 5 1st, I drove it 300 metres (330 yards), but on the par 4 9th, only 200 metres (220 yards) with a good connection on both. Guess which one was into the wind!

I'd recommend this course to anyone heading to Cape Town.
