At last... She gets the message...

Maria Miller finally see's the light and resigns...

Hopefully she now repays the money back...

Fat chance of that, what with her cronies in Westminster saying she only had to repay £6k out of the £100ks she benefitted from.

Interesting that she takes a moral stance against gay weddings but is quite happy to be what is akin to 'benefit cheat'.

'May the Lord save us from those who want to save us'

The bit that both annoys me and confuses my is that, apparently she was found not guilty of wrong doing yet she's still required to pay back part of the money.

If she did nowt wrong why pay anything back, but, if she did something that she shouldn't have, then pay it all back.

The rest of us can't get our home(s) subsidised and must pay tax on any benefits in kind we get from an employer and any wrong expenses claims are sackable 'offenses'.

Maybe she can pay back the £5,800 out of the £1.2m profit she made on her 'second home' which she did up using tax payers money and which her parents lived in.
After being an MP for 30 years, you'd assume she'd know the rules by now.

Corrupt politicians are not exclusive to this country, they are all at it......Brussels, America and Italy to name but a few

Did I miss a memo? She isn't anti gay weddings, she was the minister who introduced the bill to legalise them...

Her record on LGBT rights is a bit confused. Yes she was the minister who introduced the bill but she has never voted in favour of any LGBT equality legislation.... I'm not really sure what her take on it is.

I do know that the new "women and equalities" minister is anti-gay, hence they moved the "equalities" part of her brief to a different minister.

Its not just her, what about the Commmons comittee that overturned the original investigation that she had to replay £44k, that lot need a kick up the backside.

She voted in favour of the bill she introduced which was about same sex weddings. The comment I was replying to said she was anti-gay weddings. That is incorrect as she both introduced the bill and voted in favour of same sex weddings so anyone stating she is anti-gay weddings is mistaken.
