Anyone played here? What are the green fees like, the website isn't exactly bursting with information. Quite fancy playing it for no other reason than I've just found out KK Downing owns it.

Look up Me and My Golf on Youtube. There's a lengthy course vlog of them playing the course with Mark Crossfield and someone else from what I recall.

That could give you an idea of what the course is like!

Looks nice and its a course I want to play as well, I also believe Darren Clarke has a lot to do with the place also. I think a round will set you back £40-£50 from what I have seen

played it a month ago in my opinion it was the best course I've played and the greens were lightning fast. I'm not a particularly well travelled golfer to put things into perspective, Belfry / Celtic Manor / Forest of Arden are my only yard stick I'm afraid.

It was amazing weather and welcome so that all adds a little rose tint I suppose, but value for money (we paid £40) is fantastic compared to the other 3. Seen tee's for £25 twilight about £35 Mid week

Real attention to detail just everything seems to be in fantastic condition, there's a free iphone/android app with a detailed hole by hole guide, even the signs for each hole on the course are planted in a wee little flower bed and are all the holes are named after Judas Priest tunes!

Talking to the staff there they say the owner didn't want it to have a members "feel" so it would hopefully promote a more relaxed golf for all type atmosphere which we all found to be true also they said it's not a money grabber track where the place gets packed out. They are particularly careful about over booking so as not to spoil the experience which we found also to be true on a boiling Saturday morning, pace of play was spot on.

It's all relative obviously to your own experiences and expectations but for me it was great, the place was in pristine condition from the detailing in the club house to the striping on the fairways looking forward to going again.

KK Downing is really passionate about it, its his baby by all accounts and fair play I say because from people I know who have played their in charity events where he always waives the fee so the charity gets everything, they say the course is fantastic and the service and welcome you get is superb.

Only up the road and a real 'must play', possibly a future H4H's day? would be nice to have it a bit further up north for once :smirk:

I played it a couple of years ago when my son took me for Fathers Day. It is visually beautiful with no blemishes or worn areas at all. Greens were excellent but I cannot remember just what speed they were. I can post again in about three weeks, once I play it again.

£2,500 a year.....OUCH!!

Needs to be absolutely top notch to justify that.
