I see they have a scratch mid-am, is it worth the trip up from sunny Dorset?

many thanks knowledgeable peeps :D

It is beautiful! Very!

I am toying with the idea of joining however the average age is very high (bit like the forum). That wont trouble you but yes, its not a wasted trip.

I'm not sure whether to say thank you or take offence that you are implying I'm old

Course looks lovely but have had a few issues with the greens

It's not the toughest course by any stretch hence the amount of cat 1 players there is large - a bit stuffy

Think it's a bit overrated tbh - Berkhampstead is better IMO

I would say you would be a bit disappointed with the course - clubhouse and food and setting is lovely - shame the course lets it all down.

There is a reason they are struggling to attract younger members

Nice enough track D4S without being anything truly memorable, you thinking of playing the Roseberry Cup there? Certainly a course you'd fancy shooting a decent score around. Decent carvery lunch normally, as Phil says as a club it can be a bit stuffy but not really an issue on days like open comps (personally think its better than Berko too)

If you do come up let me know and you can have a round at ours if you fancy it ?

Yeah, I saw the comp advertised so thinking about giving it a go as it doesn't really clash with anything else. Sounds like it could be worth a day out :)

Played in it a few years, usually a decent enough days golf (easier when its only 20 mins down the road to say that though!) Good luck if you play and echo Phils comment if you were coming up day before or staying over and wanted another game can always get one sorted

Thanks for the offers chaps, if I do enter it would probably be up straight from work on the Friday evening then head back home again straight after but will let you know how it pans out.

It's a really good event Gord. They look after us really well.

Course has been immaculate for the last 2 years I've played. Well worth the trip

One of my very favourite courses. When I played it, the greens were exceptionally quick. If I was closer I'd jump at the chance to play it again.

It won't beat you up like some courses, especially the more modern, long courses, but you will have to work to get a score.

Do it!!

I respect Brian's opinion but the rest of you are a bunch of nobs so I'm going to enter :D

Thanks for all the advice guys......love you all

Typical!! The Rosebery Cup is the 20th June... I fly down this Sunday, not next. Although having said that, still out injured.
