Following on from a round which ended in torrential downpours having been going really well and kept it together just long enough to get cut 0.4.
Well this week I was +1 gross after 12 holes and it opened up on the 13th while about to hit my second shot. I had been playing really relaxed and using irons on the shorter par 4's etc. Well once I got wet something went wrong, took a 7 then finished the final 5 holes with a bogey on each resulting in an 80, level par net. Looking back it all hinged on one shot where I had been recovering well up until there, decided to be a little more agressive and lost a ball where it clipped a tree and noone saw it land.
It seems to be a concentration thing which lapses once the rain starts coming down. Disappointed and angry at myself for starting so well and crumbling.
Ho Hum, always next Saturday.

Out of interest do you carry and did you prepare in case of rain (spare towels/gloves etc). I have found it much easier since getting a trolley to carry my umbrella and I've just got the brolley holder for the trolley so the clubs will stay even drier and I can keep a towel under their for my hands etc

Hard luck--your concentration drops like a number of players. You should make the weather your friend and embrace the conditions.
Always look on the positive side.

Yup, top, towel, gloves and umberdoodle.
It came on as I was about to line up and hit my second shot at the 13th albeit from beneath a tree with a gap to aim for. My glove got damp but decided to change it at the next tee (I only wear it for the shot then its off again) but the club just turned ever so slightly and clipped a tree tip, all went down hill from there with a par3 next which I missed by 15 yards left under more trees that required a putter through all sorts to keep it below the lower branches around 10 inches from the ground.
What is frustrating it that I find the back nine a little easier and usually score better there than the front nine.
As I said, no harm done and there is next weeks medal to look forward to.

It is frustrating in general terms and especially so when you know you've executed a recovery shot well and it just fails to come off. That'sthe great thing about this game there is always the next round.
