Just a quick post to say goodbye to everyone on the forum who I have met, played with or just interacted with via this medium.

I am playing the County Championship on Friday,Saturday and hopefully Sunday (if I make the cut) at my old club and have then decided to put the clubs away in the loft and return to my main passion of cycling now I have a little more time to train due to not workin mad shift patterns any more.

Its just not happened this year, once the season started the motivation is just not there and I have not enjoyed it,so no point in carrying on.

It just makes sense to spend what very little spare time I have doing what I really enjoy and continue the journey of discovery in a new sport.

I genuinely wish everyone all the best.

That seems a shame, but you have made you mind up and no point trying to change it. You will continue working around golf with your business I presume?

Regardless, best wishes for the future :D

Oh and should you rekindle your passion for the superior sport of the two you mentioned, you know where we are ;)

Well I can't really see where you're coming from because I love this game so much but I respect your descision.
Take care on the roads Alchemy, watch out for the bad "drivers"....

Be good. If you can't be good be careful. If you can't be careful buy another pram!! :D :D :D ;)

Argh such a shame, the game is losing a great player.

Seriosly, ALL THE BEST mate. Many thanks for the game at your gaff. Gutted I wont be coming back to give you a better game.

Hope the business works out and the cycling is more enjoyable than your golf.

Do pop in now and then yeah!

Take Care!

Agreed......

Cheers Tony And Dave

My intention was always to have another game with you guys but this decision has only brewed for the last 2 weeks.

I am still full on with the business which is still flying so although I wont be playing I obviously will be still connected to golf through my work.

Im really looking forward to the County Champs and going back to my old club, there is no pressure now,I can just go and really enjoy it.

I did the full golf thing 15 years ago in my early 20's and really want to test myself at a new sport and see where I can go with it,just like all you guys are doing with your golf.I only gave up and came back to golf because of time restraints after we started a family.Last year some hunger did return but this year it has just faded away.

I will try and browse on here every now and again.

Good luck Alchemy, I admire someone who knows their own mind and makes big decisions but I am certain that when you get older and your pedal legs start aching, you'll be back on the course. Good luck.

You can check out any time you like but you can never leave!

Some good input and some good ding dongs on the forum so thanks for that.

I don't have another sport other than skiing in winter but I know what you mean about motivation for golf - once you've stopped improving and actually start scoring worse at golf the enjoyment can lessen so the desire to play lessens. That's natural. A new sport and a new group of people will offer a lot of fresh challenges.

What are you riding? - Cannondale or Specialized?

Sorry to hear you're going. I used to cycle to keep fit until I got knocked off twice in 2 months by white van men. -so I took up golf. Be careful out there.Au revoir ;)

Alchemy good luck with your cycling, its a shame were losing a good member of the forum.

Keep your hand in here eh fella, i'm sure your advice could help us young'uns ;)
