Reading the thread in 'The Lounge' regarding hat on or off courtesies at the end of a round got me pondering the question:-

Are you a hugger or a shaker?

The good ole firm handshake seems to be getting swallowed up by the hug, throwing your arms around someone instead of a handshake.

Me I would not thank anyone for a hug, all this poncy nonsense giving a bloke a cuddle, I mean really. A good hand shake will do every time and I don't mean any of the dipped fingers, cocked wrists masonic stuff, nor shaking someones hand then putting your free hand on top in a show of dominance.

Just a good ole fashioned hands out clasped together shake to show courtesy and respect.

If you hug me after a round then you won't be getting a drink from me.. Keep your new age namby pamby shenanigans to yourself thank you very much. Polite handshake, thanks for the game.. :D

I just go for the firm handshake on the course, but I have been known to give Rickg a hug.

Can't stand a limp handshake though.

Blimey we really do need golf back on the telly !!!!

and the only decent one I'd hit all day!

Ah, but you hadn't partaken of the pre comp drinkies the day before.. The ideal preparation..

Seem to remember a chest bump with Smiffy. We both had to have a rest for a few minutes to get our breath back.:(

I tried a chest bump with Stu C once. I didn't wake up for 3 weeks and my wife had got re-married...

Noooo to hugging on the golf course - what is that about  A nice handshake, and with ladies an additional peck on the check is given. I have not actually seen any hugging on the 18th Green - not even between connected mixed partners.
