Are you a fair weather or foul weather golfer?

I am a fair weather golfer.. When the sun is out, I am happy as a bee. I will hit the ball far. As I can't generate any backspin, I will have a great time as the ball have a good bit of roll.

When the weather is foul, so is my mood. Can't judge the distance in the rain, can't get the line right in the wind. One of my regular PPs would however be on a song. On competition days he would be praying to the rain gods!!

What conditions work for the formers?

I hate golf in the wind. Light rain is not too bad...but of course I am a fair weather golfer......cannot beat the sun on on Sunday afternoon and a lovely empty course.

warm with a light breeze and a soft course for me :thup:

but I also like clear and cold

I don't like wet, windy and cold

Like Duncan, I don't mind it wet, don't mind it cold and don't mind it windy, just not all 3 at the same time!!

I prefer sunny and about 22 degrees but I've won several monthly comps in wet and windy conditions - I play in virtually any weather

Played my knockout semi-final yesterday and it rained all round, sometimes very heavily, I loved it, had a really good close match.

I prefer nice weather like most do but I don't mind playing when its a little colder and even in wind. I HATE the rain though :angry:

I prefer fair weather and I don't mind if I'm caught in a shower but playing in heavy rain is a no-no.

Any weather any time of the year. I've been on the sideline for 12 months or so. So when I get back on course. Will play in anything.

Don't mind any weather, though I prefer sunny and little wind - mind you I've played on average twice a week since September and only encountered heavy rain a couple of times - One of those (Cruden Bay) was wonderful even in 35 mph winds and driving rain - Good waterproofs, rain gloves and a sunmountain H2N0 golf bag are all you need to handle heavy rain.

I'll play in any weather, I'm just happy to be getting out. It seems like everytime me and my mate plan to go play some where the weathers always bad so I'm used to it. Makes you a better player if you can play in any weather.

If it's open, then i will play, but if i feel that playing it will make the course worse, then i won't bother.

Will play in anything really without being too bothered.

Have to say today was tough today though driving rain but hot too so a little too hot for waterproofs.

i play golf for Fun and Enjoyment,no fun in being cold and wet,play snooker and look through the window at the fools trudging about in the mud.
