An on-going issue nationally is that of golfers not adhering to the requirements laid down by CONGU with regards to some golfers playing from less than accurate handicaps, we are sure you’ve seen the regulars throughout the season. We have taken the steps this past month to disqualify or refuse entry to over 25 golfers, furthermore we have employed a member of staff to verify the handicaps and playing records of all competitions facilitated under the Square Peg Events banner, we like to think the League to Dubai is a “Bandit free zone”

Having played in the League to Dubai a couple of times I think they do their best to ensure accurate h/c's, the statement above is encouraging and hopefully will be adopted by certain other competitions too !!

Merry Christmas to one and all

Shame they can't do a check for timewasters as well.

I played in singles and BB last year. Played 4 matches and the other 4 couldn't be bothered.

I play in a couple purely to,play golf at different courses and hopefully win the odd game. I know I will never win anything from the prize table.

Thats as good a statement as your gonna get saying " Bandits we are on your case" I would be more interested if we knew who these 25 are. Wonder if the guy who was mentioned on here a few weeks ago is on that list. Plus those two Brothers from the " they exist" thread the other week.
I honestly think that if whoever is going to set up prestigious comps like this then, one criteria should be that, people who are gonna enter have the written support of there clubs re hcaps. After all surely there clubs are as much to blame for said Bandits aka "cheats".
whether it does owt or not, at least someone is trying to do summat about it.

Sounds like a definite step in the right direction and it's hoped the likes of the Nike, TT etc follow suit. I usually enter the Nike as it's a good way of playing some decent local courses at reasonable prices.
