Dont know if many horse racing fans but an amazing achievement from McCoy to get to 4000 winners, one that is highly unlikely to be matched again, hats off to him.

Had the pleasure to be at Towcester for the 4000th this afternoon, sadly I was the one in the grandstand not roaring him home as Id backed the one he caught on the line lol. Amazing reaction when he returned to the Paddock, never seen Towcester so busy even on Boxing Day

The man is a machine. Incredible what he has achieved.

he sits on a race horse

wonder who does most of the work

Says a man who I guess hasn't watched much racing? The work the jockeys do is very tiring, multiple (sometimes long) races a day, trying to stay at a low weight, and for most jockeys, very little money! A good jockey can really mean the difference between a horse winning and losing!

I heard he's had over 15,000 races, fallen off around 1,000 times and covered over 75,000 miles!
Also, a cup of tea and a rye based biscuit represents a meal!
His nearest competitor has won around 2,500 races.
I'm not a racing fan, but absolutely respect how good this guy must be.

Slime.

But he's no Max Woosnam .

Pure ignorance of what is needed to race a horse

I guess golf clubs do the work for fhe golfers

AP's achievement is up there with the 4 min mile - amazing sporting achievement

He's a lovely fella too, I think he rode something like his 2996th winner on one of ours, we were getting very excited at the time we booked him. We thought ours could have been 3000!

Pure ignorance of golf altogether and you play it:rolleyes:

Ha Ha Ha best laugh in ages:rofl: comparing one mans single unaided achievement with sitting on the doped up favourite:rofl:

So do a lot of other riders, but they don't seem to have the same success.:mmm: .

Agreed, but as he won more he would get booked to ride the better horses with more chance of winning than the candidate for the glue factory bringing up the rear.
Not taking anything away from AP, it's a fantastic achievement but, in a way it's similar to Messi winning everything - the better players/riders get to play/ride with the best which has to increase their chances of winning even more...

Spot on. It's like Vittel in F1,he wouldn't win all those races in a Force India car. But the reason AP gets booked to ride the best horses is because he's the best.

Fantastic achievement by a top bloke. Being in and around the industry all my life, anyone knocking this record simply has no idea. Sorry.

Well done AP!
