Wasn't sure where to post this as it is about golf, but it's also about mobile phones.

Does anyone here use Freecaddie as a rangefinder on their course? what phone do you use it with and does it work well?

I've already registered and my home course is available so i'm very interested in getting a new mobile that would allow me to use this software. Do phones like the LG Arena or Samsung Pixon work or does it need to be a Windows driven machine like the nokia n96 or blackberry?

I like the idea of not having to shell out £00's for a gps.

cheers for the replies people.

i've now joined in with the thread in the reviews section, so mods, feel free to delete this thread.

:)

I have an LG arena....could anyone direct me to a GPS to use with this. Also do they need to connect to the internet on your phone while you use it?

Generally phones do not need to be connected to the internet or the phone signal for the GPS to be active and working. Actually it's best to turn the radio (phone)signal off during the round to preserve battery life and not to annoy your playing partners should it ring.

As for software try caddyaid mobile and check the compatibility list.
