Anyone recommend a golf hotel in the Stratford Upon Avon area?

Looking for somewhere for an overnight stay in the Stratford upon Avon area early in October for two couples, golf for the gents ideally something for the ladies to do as well. Dont mind being a bit further west but rather try something new rather than Belfry/Forest of Arden.

Nice course fundy, might be worth a buggy if you've had a few the night before, bit hilly but some of the views are worth it, got some good other courses round there too, ingon manor just down the road and Stratford oaks isn't bad, think you get a good deal on the golf if your staying there, nice and local for shopping in Stratford for the mrs, your credit card might take a battering though, there's plenty of b&bs / hotels close to Stratford so you've got plenty of choice, not far from the race course either, you've got Stratford or Warwick on the doorstep,

Yeah I would recommend the Menzies based on location but haven't played it.

The warwickshire has two great courses and isn't too far from Stratford at all.

Thanks mate, location is based on the races being on (as you may have guessed lol). Played and stayed at Ingon Manor a few years back, course was fine but accomodation was basic to say the least

Warwickshire def an option for the golf, but means need to find a hotel still I guess

The Menzies has both the golf for you guys and a spa for the ladies, If your looking elsewhere for golf try Stratford Golf Course (Tiddington Lane), only heard good things about the course.

Mate of mine stayed & played there - he liked it.
Said the course was good and the food at the hotel very nice.

No more than the Menzies.

Flat but not outstanding layout at Stratford GC. In fact the area is not exactly blessed with too many really good courses. You probably already know Tadmarton, a little further south

Im a member at ingon Manor which shares the same land as Welcombe. Both a good challenge, ingon has less walks from green to tee. Ingon has a hotel and i generally well priced, would definitely be cheaper than Welcombe.

Other two in Stratford area are Oaks and Stratford but neither have hotels.

You're welcome to play at Kenilworth during your stay. Menzies is ok but overpriced. I used to be a member at Ingon Manor and that's ok. Kenilworth will offer you a stiffer challenge and staying in Warwick, 6 miles down the road offers good accommodation and plenty of eateries.

I wouldn't recommend Stratford Oaks. The muni in Leamington is better.
