Playing there with a customer tomorrow morning.
Looks short and tight, is that a fair assessment ?
Its a Henry Colt Course, so its got pedigree, looks nice

Any tips

Rickmansworth Golf course was originally the East or Ladies course of Moor Park Golf Club, but was sold to, or taken over by, the local council. It is known locally as 'Tricky Ricky', because it is short and tight with many sloping lies. The 1st hole is a tricky uphill par-3. Take at least 2 clubs more than you think is necessary for the distance, or you will come up short.

Been a about 20+ years since I played there, but this is how I remember it. Been meaning to go and play again, let us know what it's like now.

Played there a few years back now, not a long course but as I remember small greens. One par 5 seems long then has a tiny green the size of a 50 pence piece!

Good test though. Very hilly. Worth getting a buggy if old / unfit / ill / lazy.

Played it a few years ago - thought it was an average course at best.

As others have said it is tight, hilly, and a bit tricky in places. The first is only 130/140 yards but take more club as suggested.

I think it's the 5th whicg is also a short par 3 around 120 yards which can be a round wrecker if not careful.

A real nice course especially if not a not long hitter.

Its a really nice little course, definitely have to plot your way around, but some nice holes, good bunkering and some tricky greens that must be hard to hold in the summer.

Got beaten up by the 1st hole, drove right, duff chip into the huge bunker, 2 to get out etc.ended the front 9 with a reasonable 16 points. but blitzed the back 9 with 20 points inc a bird par finish for 7 points in 2 holes to end up with a satisfying 36 points, certainly play it again and for £15 you cant argue.

Playing with a customer who is just starting and his mate , both off 28, the mate scored 23 on the back 9 inc 4 x 4 pointers on the bounce, but I did him by 1 point :) as be blobbed the last

A group of mates have a "casual" match there every year - gawd knows why as most of us live in south & east London now sonot that convenient for us.. But a bacon roll for brekkers, some lunch and two rounds for about £35 make a pleasant day. Never going to make the top 100 but its a nice enough day out.

Its better since they got rid of the very short par three which used to be the 3rd - a well struck putter used to be enough to get on in one.
