Hello all

Just wondered if anyone has played this course before and what they think of it? I have a game booked in mid-November so no doubt it will bucket down...

Cheers in advance

Played it a couple of times. The first time we got on at a cheap green fee 'cos it was during the winter. The pro said there were "a couple of temporary greens"...we played the first 7 holes all to temporaries and then it snowed quite heavily so we called it a day. To be fair, the pro gave us a voucher to enable us to go back and play at a later date, which we did. We waited 'til about May time when the course would be in reasonable condition.
It's not a bad track although. First hole is a "nothing" hole...straight forward par 3 with a big tree right in front of you to add a bit of interest. The second hole looked like it could be a good one but was having a lot of work done on it and reduced it to a knock with a 3 wood and a wedge. A few good holes, some not so good. A couple of really tight driving holes. The greens weren't too bad, but after about 10 holes you go into an enclosure on the other side of the race track and play a few holes that seem crammed into quite a tight area. This is the part I didnt really enjoy. 17th & 18th are two cracking holes though and would stand up on most courses as good 'uns. The ground was very wet in places, I wouldn't think it would hold out very well if the rains come. Lots of mats were used during the winter months too..in fact I don't think I can remember teeing off of grass on one hole!
Enjoyable, but I wouldn't personally rush back there to play.

I was a founder memeber there in 1987 and really learn't my golf there.

A very nice course, I have fond memories. Well balanced with a combination of short, long, hard, very hard and easier holes. Suitable for all standards.

Enjoy in November...................
