Hi CK - I played there many moons ago. I think we played it on the way to a golf/jolly up in Bournemouth.
I recall they had two courses, but cant recall their names.
What I can say is that the one we played in the morning was pretty poor, due to the new forest ponies leaving pony **** and hoof prints all over the place.
The other course, for reasons unknown, didnt have any ponies and was much better and worth the reward for those that didnt pack their bags at lunchtime and head for Bournemouth.
As I say, we played a long time ago so things might have changed.
Bramshaw is just down the road from me. Two courses. One is the Forest Course which is common ground. Very unusual as there are indeed ponies wandering around. The greens are mostly fenced off however and are better than you might expect. I quite like tyhe course as it offers a really different challenge than you will be used to. some great and picturesque holes with some tricky streams to negotiate that you dont' se from your approach. Can be affected by the weather though so beware if it is wet.
The Manor is the other course and is parkland. It's not cheap to play there so as you might expect it is pretty good. Some fairly straightforward holes but also some very tricky ones. There is a par 3 called the bell due to the bell shaped green which is always tricky at around 200 yards and other holes where you need to place the ball off the tee. I would recommend a planner as there are some blind shots. Friends played it last weekend and said the rough is very difficult at the mo but the greens are very good. Overall I think you will enjoy yourself. Hope this helps.
Well that depends. Where you are is pretty rural. If it's nightlife you are after then you need to head to Southampton some 6 miles away. There are quite a few pubs within easy range of the course, about 6 within a mile and a half but as I said they are mostly of the country variety.
Bad for nightlife but possibly good for your golf !
