I have been researching and i think i might try this diet, Not for weight loss, i have a condition that can be triggered by some foods and the paleo is regarded as a very good option for people that have what i have.

Anyway, has anyone done it for any length of time? was it easy? was it boring? any good websites for ideas?

Thanks all!

We met the author of this book when we rented a property of his in Cyprus http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004OL26GM/ref=dp-kindle-redirect?_encoding=UTF8&btkr=1 He's a nutritional anthropologist & has lived with a tribe of African nomads, many of whom live to & beyond 100 years. His website is here:

His wife has written a couple of recipe books, this is one:

We felt very healthy following the diet but I love rice with curry & chips with steak so I'm prepared to sacrifice a couple of years off the end of my life so I can enjoy myself.

Thank you MIB! I do like spuds and rice too! But willing to leave them! the more i am reading up on it, the more i want to do it. Need to wife to do it too though, not cooking separate meals!

It is a fad diet. The underlying notion is rather silly, because there are plenty of good healthy foods available now that were not available then, and because in paleo times, old age and dementia were not a particular problem because you were likely to die of infection or being eaten by a wild animal, but a diet high in unprocessed foods and low in sugar and overall calories is healthy. The Mediterranean Diet remains the best real world healthy diet. High protein, low carb diets are cool right now, but the long term health benefits are not clear.

Fad diet or healthy way of eating? This amazes me, if it's true & I've seen no evidence to the contrary http://glynthincs.tumblr.com/post/32389266466/diabetes-lech-walesa Lec Walesa had seriously severe diabetes & was "cured" on a high fat, low carb diet. And how much more diabetes is there now & how much chips, bread, rice, sugar & other carbs are consumed?
