A mate gave me his Xhot 2 pro driver the other week and found i hit that much better than the SLDR.

The Callaway has 8.5 as its standard loft and can be adjusted up or down, but have been using on the 8.5 neutral setting.

Had a lesson last week and we fiddled around with the settings on it with the aid of the flight scope.. the numbers were good on 8.5, but even better on 7.5.

hitting pretty well as Ive been playing a lot over the last few weeks in 4 day opens and in another this week.

Gained a bit of distance in carry and run... though not sure how!!!

any one else lofted down with the driver?

When I first got the jpx850 with stock shaft I had it down at 7.5 and 8.5 to being down the launch.

Put in a stiffer lower launching shaft and popped it back up to 9.5

Loft is just used to find ideal launch conditions with the driver.

It all depends on your swing. If you've a positive angle of attack then you might find that your optimum dynamic loft comes with a lower club loft. Whatever works

yea, I'd been going by my Tm fitting 4 years ago at 9 degrees. I went to my club pro for a yadage session and I was shown that I could loft down and tee it up a touch to see, result was another 20 yards with no change in dispersion as I was spinning the crap not of the ball at 9 degrees. before was 3500 approx and after was low 2000's.
I bought a new Tm R15 this week and had my first few hits out on the course with it turned down to 8 degs first and still hit it reasonably high so might sneak a range session to see if 7 degrees makes it too low and not enough spin to keep it airborne as much as 8 degs. I have a feeling 8 will be the purple patch.

I went from 10.5 to 9.5 a couple of years back, not sure if it made any difference but my driving has never been better due to a large number of factors.

Yep. Kings of Distance day last year showed I had huge launch angle and spin rate with my driver. Went from 10 to 9 degrees to help address this and have been driving 20 yards further. Not all due to loft I guess ( I had a lesson to look at my swing too) but it helped.
