Anyone here members at North Weald - Essex?

I appreciate that it is a bit of a long shot but I just wondered if there are any forum users that are currently members at North Weald Golf Club in Essex?

I am thinking of joining and as a relative newcomer to the game this would be my first venture into club golf and I was hoping for some insights into the pros/cons of this particular club.

I`m not a member rob, played it once with my coach; there was a lot of work going on along the course when i was there some 8 months ago.

Heard the drainage is dreadful, and the ground holds water horribly when its wet (although many older courses do)

If you havn`t already, go along there, chat to the pro Paul Holland; try and find a few members, chat with them, have a look around.

I know a few people that have links to the club, i will ask them about it when i see them.

Membership seems a bit pricey too.

Hey Adjani, thanks very much for your post.

I have played North Weald a few times this year and appreciate what you say regarding the landscaping. Hopefully though all the hard work and disruption will be worth it and it will mature into a fine course over the coming years.

I am looking for a club that is close to my work (Harlow) and has good practice facilities as I am really looking to sort out my game this year. So getting affiliated with a club and club pro for regular lessons should help. Out of the various clubs in the local area North Weald seems to fit the bill on most counts.

Regarding the game, most definately. I am also based in South Essex (Chadwell Heath, just next to the Cranfield driving range)and always welcome the chance to get another round in.
