i have a set of ap2 and playing well at the minute but i have been offered a cheap cheap set of ping g10 and was thinking of buying them as a spare set or maybe use them when it all goes a bit wrong which i am hoping it will not. My mate is a pro said this is a very bad idea and get the though out of my head straight away. He said it will damage my game as it will lay a seed of doubt what you guys think?

I have a set of AP2's and some combo Mizuno's in MP67 and 57's

Playing with the AP's but tempted to use the Mizzys!

Why would you need a second set when you have just forked out on 700 quid odd for a set of clubs

Don't bother with the pings and stick with the new clubs you have just bought

For what it's worth and with my golfing ability, my brain tells me that what your pro advises makes complete sense. What happens if the g10's have an off day and so are the ap2's, do you then go and buy a 3rd set. The only person who should have spare irons is my wife I case the main one breaks down.

Still got my old Taylormade Tour Preferred's as I didn't get to Golfbidder at the weekend. Under orders to pack, de-clutter and tidy ahead of the move next week. They'll coming with now and I'll get rid in the new year

Still got my old Ping G15's but do not use them, can probably see them going up for sale on here before long. If your playing well with your current set seems silly buying another

They were cheap. my brother in law is after g15 what you looking for them and what is the spec?

two are at home in Ireland.

out of the other 3 its just what ever takes my fancy. currently on mp 52's ! they have the nod ahead of my nike pro combos and mp 33s.

im never selling the nike combos. I used them for 4 years when I first got a membership. they took me from 18 to singles and for that they have the honour of never being sold!

Golf clubs do not have an off day, the person that uses them does.

They were bought from the Ping centre at Gainsborough. 5-PW + Gap wedge and the G15 rescue(4 Iron replacement) all in stiff shafts. They are Silver dot, the shafts are extended length as I am 6ft 3" tall but I cannot remember by how much by, also they are set so many degrees upright I think again am not sure by how much. I will have to find the spec sheet or get it from Ping if you are interested. The Rescues alone on Ebay are fetching around £40 + post so will be looking at around £220 for the lot + post.

thats a super price but he need regular shafts and he is about 2ft 6 tall:cool:

I bought a decent 2nd hand set of AP2's in the summer as the Orka's were in the naughty cupboard.
Orka's restored to their rightful place so the AP's will be dispensed with shortly as I can't keep both..

Just too lazy to get rid. :o Soooo, errrrrrm.... 6 atm - but two are MP60s reg and stiff.

Also thought about doing some adjustments myself, with some significantly different specs to accepted norms e.g. length, grip size etc., just so that I can have some long term 'testing' but......

....I've transferred the spare sets to my "man drawer". Out of sight, out of mind! :D

I only wish I had 2nd set. Im currently looking for stiff shafted irons something along lines of g20 - G 25, so if anyone has spare set please mail me n we can see if we can strike a deal. Also if anyone interested in my Adams Redline let me know

I've a spare set of mp 62 , my old irons.

I use them every now and then if I get a call to play else wear, as my main set live in the locker at the club.

Same shaft and grip size.
