anyone have more than one set of irons?

i have a set of ap2 and playing well at the minute but i have been offered a cheap cheap set of ping g10 and was thinking of buying them as a spare set or maybe use them when it all goes a bit wrong which i am hoping it will not. My mate is a pro said this is a very bad idea and get the though out of my head straight away. He said it will damage my game as it will lay a seed of doubt what you guys think?

Can't see the point of a spare set myself.

When ever I get a new set, the old ones are gone in short order.

Like Hawkeye, I don't see the point of multiple sets.

Is this an ironic post or have you changed your mind about the experiment?

I kept the 2 iron from my X22 callaway set , got rid of the rest ........always best to have just the one set I feel , ..............EYG

I once had 5 sets of TM300 Forgeds - and plenty of spare putters.

3/4 different locations. All 'same' spec.

Down to a single set - and TM300s all gone - now. Just the odd 'spare' club or head.

2 sets for me, only because I have just bought mizunos so the callaways are now spare, happy to keep them as second hand prices are very low, I play with a friend a couple of times a year who doesn't have clubs so handy for him to use as well.

I've currently got 4 sets, it's only because I can't be doing with the hassle of selling the others. Their not worth a great deal and I can't be bothered with the tyre kickers. :D Oh and the wifes got 2 sets and the daughters set are in the garage and not been used for a couple of years.

I have gone back to using my MX25's over the winter. They are a bit lighter and a bit more forgiving than the MacGregors, so good for cold days when I'm wearing 4 layers, and the ball feels hard and I can't make a full swing.

Like Twire, I've got 4 sets, and can't be bothered to sell them on, as resale value is so low. Two sets are battered, and one set is hardly used at all, but still worthless. I guess I could use them if my current set get stolen, until I buy a new set.

I'm not going to change my Nikes any time soon.

Rocketbladez tours- main set

Mizuno T-zoid Pro's -

Titleist Tour pro blades - just to remind me I used to be decent

On OP - pro is spot on. Having a 'backup' set and you seem to be making yourself a hostage to fortune. All OK when things going well - but as soon as...

You'll be thinking 'if only I'd been playing with the other set' and as far as that round goes your head is done-in. And so next time you are going out do you take one set or the other. Or do you mix and match. Nope - bad idea IMO. One set and these are your clubs until you decide to change. And IF you change you make the change and don't flip-flop.

My TP's are definitely going but just can't get to Golfbidder before I move or before Christmas. I guess the money will come in usual post Chrimbo especially with a six week wait between December and January pay days

Tour Preffered

My irons are Tour Preffered MC

TP is a "tour" range for TM
