Don't want to take the fitting thread off topic but wanted to find out if anyone who's had the CF experience... has anyone found that results suggested longer irons of one brand and shorter from another & if so what did you do about it?

Plenty players have driver/woods that differ from their irons (& from each other) and plenty play with a different make for their wedges too, so it got me thinking, does it follow that if say a G25 3I is the best performer that the G25 9I will also be the best?

What if the 8/9 irons for AN Other brand were better than the G25's but the Pings had it nailed 3-7?

On a custom fit do you even get fitted for individual irons? (if not why not, its a 7 club spread of lofts after all)

This is an important aspect that gets missed in a basic CF. Each iron should be assessed for loft and lie, as we all hit the ball that little bit differently with each iron. I found through gapping CF that my 8 and 9 were similar, leaving a big gap to my 7. A tweak of the lofts and job done.

Mizuno (and probably others) allow mix setups. E.g. MP54s plus MP63s or whatever.

Thanks Piece

So with the lack of folks with any mix of irons I'm going to surmise that a 'custom' fit might just take say a 6Iron from the middle of a 25 degree spread of clubs and lumps the player with a single brand

Maybe not quite custom after all!

This has been a minor irritation of mine for years. Interestingly I have just posted looking for a club maker so that I may deal with it.
