Hi all,

Looking to get some Miura wedges, anyone been fitted for them? Where did you go? Did you get different wedges types for gap, sand and lob? ie different grinds?

Any and all info helpful thanks.

Your bag is going to make me want to puke with envy if you don't cut it out

:)

Heheh, all thats left now is to actually play some golf... its turning into a collections rather than a set of tools :o

Wife and child away all weekend, weather looks crappy!

I've had over a dozen Miura wedges over the years.

Good wedges, but nothing really special! They seemed rather modeled on the Vokey 'feel', which I didn't used to like - but now seem to get on with quite well!

The 'best' thing about them is that they are fairly meaty, so allow scope for whatever grind the fitter wants to apply (C worked for me)! They also appear (from reports) to maintain the spin characteristics

I'd suggest you consider contacting ICYGolf - for a Tour experience fitting!

Thanks, The C grind looks the most universal of them, love the look of the K grind sole but the wedge series looks the nicest, rounded shape to me.

Its my understanding that the ICY stuff is a little light in the head.

Doesn't feel that way to me. Go see Ian and give them a try, there's no pressure to buy.

Don't think it's actually 'light in the head', but, from what understand, the heads are from the Vega producers which have a lighter (brighter) feel off the face. I believe your Mizzies will be the same. I actually prefer that feel, though the (ex RickG) Clevelands are rather Vokey-ish - a bit 'dull' (soft) off the face.

Agree with Foxholer and Need my wedge, I've just ripped my ICY wedges to bits, put in new Nippon Modus3 115 wedge shafts in, and put Winn Dri-Tac lite grips 23g and the swing weight is D6.5, cos they are a Raw forging you can sandblast the face only and comes up brand new. the actual head on its own weighs 304g. Love mine. Plus Iain custom grinds the wedges to your swing.

But The only Muira fitter I've experienced is Four Counties Golf in Tamworth Melvyn Fern

What shaft did they come with? What choices were available?

He will put in what you want Alex, the first time I was there he had a garage load of shafts. But last time I saw him he had a spring clean in his garage. He's got a Huxley green in his garden with a bunker. He will watch, assess, advise, give tips, show you certain shots with the wedges.

You can always have a chat if your concerned about the shaft options. He used to work for Cleveland wedge department for 15yrs.
