I went to american golf today to test out a fastback and a del mar. They did not have a fastback in stock but did have a del mar and the del mar felt great, but i could not test the fastback. I had a squareback but found it a bit of a clump and not a good feel, im a bit concerned if i buy a fastback online it will be similar to the squareback. anyone help guys

I have the 2102 Del Mar. Never tried the Fastback or square back so have nothing to compare the Del Mar to.

The main difference, apart from the head shape would be the offset. The Del Mar has a 3/4 shaft offset while the 2012 Fastback has a full shaft offset.

Not too sure on the head weights but I would imagine they are broadly similar.

im using a newport 1.5 2012 in black nice putter but love the del mar looks and feels perfect

Those are 3 seriously different styles of putter!

What made you think any/all would suit you? It seems unlikely that all would suit!

Or are you just buying they look 'purdy' (and you can)?

Why not have a putter fitting?

I think my Fastback is the 2012 model (California with sea mist finish) and she is a great putter indeed, feels more like a blade than a mallet, soooooo soft! Dunno if that helps?

I have a Del Mar in sea mist. It is fantastic. I tried the Monterrey as I thought a blade would suit me better, but the Del Mar was so much better for me. I just love putting with it. I hope this helps.

I've got a Squareback. When I was testing putters prior to buying, I narrowed down to this and the Fastback. I don't think there's a lot of difference between them other than the rounding of the edges on the Fastback.

I bought the del mar when it was re-introduced with the honey dip, I like the square back but I thought for the money it was a little bland. When I got the del mar I was unimpressed with it I increased the the grip size and and tried again but still I struggled. So I put it away for a rainy day and thought I would shift it on. However the numbers were not really stacking up to sell it. So I got it back out because our greens are a touch rapid, and it feels nice so I have been practicing with it and will give it a full on trial for my next few rounds ... it could have a reprieve!
