Just spoke to Neil, if theres anymore rain today/tonight will be closed tomorrow, if not they'll try to open but may well be back 9 only as thats a bit drier than the front

Thanks for letting me know... It will be closed as we are expecting rain in that aria tonight... Fingers X for Sunday.

I decided not to play golf last week, arranged some family stuff as I was expecting the course to be closed. It was lovely weather buy I had to miss out. Been watching the weather all week and it looks like we are due more rain tomorrow, my tee time at 10:21 is looking dodgy.

Will be looking for courses elsewhere if we are closed, getting withdrawal symptoms now.

I just wonder whether I am on the right side of the argument (for a change would be nice) actually wanting my course closed during periods of weather such as this - when it could probably be open - if only partially. Having said that I think I'll go have a bite of lunch to keep a little money going into the coffers.

my course is open, but i think i have tendinitis in my wrist/elbow/arm... no golf for me :(

Join the club, have tendenitis in my left thumb/wrist. Been told no golf for at least a week to see if it calms down on just ibuprofen and paracetemol. Not only that but I have also been told to lay off the Xbox as well. Add to that the fact that I have just quit smoking and am taking a month off the booze and you have one grumpy person mooching around the house all weekend.

Oh, and you can add the fact that the season ticket I was borrowing to go and watch the Tigers match tomorrow is now not available so not going to that either.

Not happy.

Due to my local course being devastated by the floods, last week my playing partner and I rang around the local courses to find out if there was one without too many temporaries.

Funnily enough Windwhistle Golf Course which I rarely play told me that the course was in good condition without any temporary greens which was unbelievable given the local weather.

We decided to give it a go and we're pleasantly surprised as the course was in superb condition with only one green being soft.

We were that impressed that we've booked again this week.

Winter League match just cancelled so no game for me - mind you its been raining every day this week and it was horrible out on the course last weekend so truth be told I'm not that bothered.
Could do with a dry spell otherwise its going to be a long time before the course will look right.

Got out for seven holes after being delayed photographing a footballer at lunchtime. Took the four iron out of my locker where it has stayed since my first round with current irons five years ago - hit it beautifully, a big surprise to me - weather was lovely too. Noticed they are working on the side of the 16th green so there's a temp green in play there - disgrace

Range tomorrow morning then afternoon of snapping fitba and lesson on Sunday morning beforre snapping more football

Will get at least nine holes on Sunday afternoon, can't wait.

Managing to get out at 9.30am on Sunday, played last week and the course was holding up well - only 1 mat and full greens. Same story this week, really looking forward to it.

Had a bite to eat at club and a chat with Pro. Course is closed until Monday when we'll do a course inspection. Our big problem is the neighbours - not just the pesky one by the 17th. Farmland adjacent to us is draining onto the course. The farmer has drainage ponds to hold surface water but these are full to the brim (and overflowing) and overflow onto our 16th. Our own containment catchment pond for flooding from the adjacent field is also completely full. It's just got to stop raining. And at the moment it's pouring down - roads flooded all over the place. A complete mess.

Off work on day 2 of a D&V outbreak. Was hoping to hit the range tonight. Fat chance now. Quite glad to see the course is shut to be honest as I won't feel too bad if I have to miss out tomorrow. Hoping to get to hit some balls. Supposedly having a short game evaluation on Sunday at Pachesham

Nothing for me. Rain in biblical proportions last night, more today and with the forecast of more to come it will be sky and more sky.
