I'm back home in Northern Ireland for two weeks holiday this weekend and have wangled day pass from the wife for bit of golf.

I am in Strabane Co. Tyrone for a week for my youngest sister’s wedding then down to Portrush for a week and wondered if anyone in either of these areas fancied a hit (high handicapper) at some point over the next fortnight.

Irish craic classic is on this weekend in Donegal , not sure if that would intrest you or not , even just a round of gold , see other thread in this section for info

Get yourself down to ballyliffin one day this weekend or if you cant make that im at North West Golf Club in buncrana and your welcome to join me for a game either Tuesday morning when theres a meal deal offer on, grub and golf for 21 euro I think it is for visitors or maybe an evening game some other day if it suits better

Let me know and we will get something sorted if you fancy it

Aye and let me know as well

If you fancy a game at murvagh give me a shout and we can sort something out.

Guys, think I might struggle with the Donegal options this time as driving wise will take me out for the whole day and I've only really negotiated a half day so was thinking Strabane, Newtownstewart, or one of the Londonderry courses next week or somewhere round North Antrim coast area for week after when we are in caravan down there.

Will try and do Buncrana and Murvagh in subsequent visits and many thanks for the invites.

Ok mate no worries but Buncrana is only another 20 mins max from Derry so not gonna take up too much more of your day.

If you hold on long enough palindromicbob will be along to offer a game at Omagh but you'll need the patience of a saint to spend a day with him :p

From what I've been hearing lately, from ex members and visitors, Newtonstewart is in terrible condition and not worth going anywhere near....Strabane, as always will be in great condition

That's very sad regarding Newtownstewart - used to be lovely course nestled in below the hills. Played it as a kid and thought greens and fairways were great. Is it just last years weather or are there problems at the Club?

No money being spent on the course apparently and very little work being done to even maintain it at any sort of decent level

Was told this from an ex member who has joined my place, as have at least another 6 fellas, plus Chris will no doubt tell you about it as he played it a couple of weeks ago in the Ulster Cup, although his judgement may be clouded by getting royally pumped

Never even took my trousers off

Can do murvagh from strabane in around 45 minutes if things fall your way but no worries offer is there if you want
