I was wondering if anyone has moved from the UK and is enjoying lovely warm golfing? If so where are you, and how/why did you end up moving?

Im just freezing here after a round, and wish to dream of escaping to somewhere nice!

Well...probably not exactly what you are after and not exactly 'enjoying' but 'enjoyed'... Moved to Germany 6 years ago, a place called Würzburg, as my wife is German. The summers have been absolutely fantastic... Shorts all the way and it's one of the driest areas in Germany, so lots of opportunity for golf.

Not much golf to be had in the winters though.. Pretty mild currently though but moving back to the UK soon so didn't renew my membership. Over the years as my wife has moaned about the very rare odd rainy or cold day in the summer...I've told her she should spend a "summer" in the UK.. I guess we'll see how it goes down...news of storms and floods hasn't exactly whetted the appetite!

Why are you coming back? Dont tell me your club has WeiBbier on tap.

:) Southern France calling:

Pleased to report a balmy 24° today and a forecast 25° when I play tomorrow.

Played yesterday in light scotch mist at Monifieth - didn't get cold at all - it's not the temperature it's how you dress for it - this afternoon I was dressed in similar fashion base layer, polo shirt, thin jersey and Footjoy jacket to photograph football at Hamilton and was roasting - had to lose the jacket and jersey at half time - lovely day

It does I'm afraid! It's a good 20 miles from where I live though so it's only a temptation I could do without!

New club in the UK will be a 30 minute walk, so I can enjoy a pint or two of real ale...or maybe I could convince them to stock a couple of weißbiers for me ;)

SW France for me 30km from the Pyrenees. French obsession with the full monty at lunchtime works for me. Tee off at any time between 1130 and 1330 and it's millionaire's golf!
Warmer climes it is but from December to March it can be anything from shorts to snowshoes but more the former than the latter.
