I would class myself as a pretty good putter playing off 4 and have had a ping anser milled since they came out which was adjusted for me by swash putting and thought I would never change. That was until I was in a local shop chatting to the lads there and just nonchalantly kept holing putt after putt on their little putting green with the X7M dual balance. I then realised what was happening and popped into their putting studio and continued to hole putt after putt over a longer distance.

Obviously bought it there and then, straight off the shelf with no adjustments.

Yet to 3 putt with it in the 8 rounds I have had with it (course is so dry and greens superb) and I genuinely can't remember missing anything yet from 10ft and in.

If you are in the market for a new putter I really recommend you try it out - so stable!

Been eyeing one up. Mate has the 5 and it does feel nice. Off to Titleist next week for irons so I might have to have a look at putters too.

My mate has the x5 too (not dual balance) and it has improved his putting no end. That's maybe why I picked up the X7M in the first place. I wasn't even looking to buy a putter as I was perfectly happy with mine!

Said friend has also had a roll with mine and just turned to me and said "so, you're basically cheating now"

I won a Newport in our Pro's raffle two years ago with a retail price of £315.

I took it it home and really wanted to take the cellophane wrapping off it but just couldn't allow myself to do it.

In the end I chopped it back in and used the account credit to fund a large chunk of my set of X2Hot irons.

Although the Scotty looked fantastic in the end I refused to let myself believe that I would find it impossible to miss with it.

I tried a Newport 2 around the time I had my anser and preferred the anser. The bad putts for me with my anser came from getting a bit wobbly/twisting on takeaway - I am finding that impossible at the moment with the X7M. Not saying it is impossible but, for me it is yet to happen.

Looks stunning.... I like my fugly futurA x , but could be tempted by this!

like the great Dr King, I had a dream

You said a week ago you where never changing your putter as its the best thing in your bag

The old saying a week is a long time in politics has nothing on you :p

At £265 I would rather miss the put. That said, I purchased a palm springs second hand putter from ebay for £15 about 5 weeks ago. Apart from the first week when I was getting used to it, I don't think I have 3 putted since, and I play 5 times a week.

Love the X5. Everytime I go into a golf shop I have a go with one. It's been top of the wishlist for a while now. One will make it into my bag eventually.

Scores must be tumbling without any three putts on your card.

On the odd occasion I do have one, I can guarantee a single put sometime during the round. I always average no more than a 2 put over 18 holes. Unfortunately the rest of my game is still pretty crap. I still top the ball far to often, and quite often participate in fairway gardening. Over 18 holes I am still averaging about 8 really stupid shots, where the ball only travels a few yards. I am now almost playing to my 28 handicap, so if I can eliminate say half of these shots, and benefit from the summer conditions, perhaps I may start to look reasonable, but who knows, because golf is the worst mistress of all !!
