It would be rude for me not to go, as Close House is only a few mile up the road, got my two tickets for the Thursday sorted and most likely be doing the other days as well.

yeah me too! I've secured 2 for me and my dad! i'll be buying for sat and sunday as well! so excited to have the European Tour back in the North east!

my mate got a couple for me and him, really looking forward to it.

will there be any decent public transport or will we have to drive?

I suspect park and ride. Public transport out to there is pretty non existent. I'm sure stuff will be posted nearer the time but one of the courses weaknesses for big events is that it is not near public transport links.

Yes
Got mine too

On another note
There are a couple of buses per hour run straight past the entrance to close house, stopping just before and just after the gates.
These run from Newcastle city centre

Drive down to Wylam, park car, walk up to Close House, golf, beer, beer, golf, maybe more beer, walk back to Wylam, beer, taxi home

I'd imagine that wylam, and wylam car park will be bursting at the seams that week.
Also free parking at newburn riverside park, then just walk along the old track that links newburn and wylam, takes you to close house

As for a taxi home......I can pass on a number for that ;)

Good shout about Newburn, cracking pub hidden down there as well, can't remember the name though.
Aye, Blueline...:D

Dam forgot about this. Wanted 2 for me and a mate was going make a trip from the south west play the day before or after. Anyone who doesn't need a couple tickets give me a shout. Please

I got 2 for me and my father in law. Never watched live golf before, what's the best tactic to get the best view and make the most of it? Stand at a tee/green and stick with it all day? Or walk round with a particular group? Assuming any of those are an option!
